GENERAL INFO
You don’t need any prior knowledge for the flight. Before your flight begins, the pilot will give you brief and very simple instructions. The only thing you need is a basic level of physical fitness to be able to run a little during takeoff
It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing (no skirts, dresses, or shorts) and a good jacket. It is also recommended to wear comfortable running shoes (sneakers or boots without heels), as well as sunglasses and sunscreen.
We strongly recommend that you be punctual with the time assigned for your flight. On many occasions, we combine flight activities and cannot delay for passengers who do not arrive on time. In addition, even if we are able to wait for you a little, weather conditions and/or scheduled activities may prevent us from carrying out your flight properly and on time. If you are coming from Valle de Bravo, we recommend that you plan to leave at least one hour before your flight appointment.
It is always recommended to eat very light meals before your flight. If you are prone to motion sickness, we recommend that you bring some medication with you to prevent nausea during the flight. If your flight is in the morning, we recommend arriving well in advance at the meeting point.
If transportation is available, it is possible upon prior request and for an additional cost. There is also the option for your companions to drive up to the takeoff area in their own vehicle so they can watch you fly and take photos/videos of you during takeoff. If they prefer not to go up, they can go directly to the landing area to wait for you when your flight ends.

El Peñón, Temascaltepec
A wide and even surface with artificial grass, featuring the ideal slope and wind direction, allows the simultaneous launch of several paragliders without compromising the safety of the pilots and their passengers.
The official landing area of El Peñón, known locally as “Piano” or “África,” has a surface area 8 times larger than the landing zone located at the foot of the lake in Valle de Bravo. This provides pilots with a great capacity for maneuverability without compromising the safety of their passengers at any time. In addition, the surrounding areas near the official landing zone are mostly suitable for use as emergency landing sites — a key factor to consider when the sky becomes crowded with pilots in the approach pattern.
Unlike the flying area located above the town of Valle de Bravo, where the laminar wind significantly reduces the lift zone positioned in front of the small takeoff, El Peñón offers thermal conditions that allow pilots to take advantage of its multiple ascending currents. This results in a much wider flying area where pilots do not interfere with or pressure each other, avoiding the unnecessary stress of aerial congestion. At El Peñón, pilots fly relaxed, transmitting this feeling of calm to their passengers.
Depending on the time of year, El Peñón offers different flying conditions. Near winter, the conditions allow pilots to achieve greater height and flight distance, while closer to summer the flights tend to be smoother and the landscape is uniquely green. What truly sets El Peñón apart is the possibility of flying practically 365 days a year, making it a unique flying site worldwide.
Due to the technical level that El Peñón demands, the El Peñón Flight Club has very selective guidelines regarding the pilots authorized to carry out commercial flights. This ensures you, as a passenger, that your pilot is able to prove their certification.
Thanks to its excellent thermal conditions, El Peñón offers endless flying possibilities for both pilots and the passengers who visit it. During high season, pilots are able to achieve flights of several kilometers, taking their passengers on an aerial tour of the entire area surrounding the town of Valle de Bravo, soaring over its mountains and forests and delighting them with its spectacular landscapes. If the weather allows, the pilot finally lands the passenger at the edge of the lake in Valle de Bravo, after an experience that far exceeds that of a simple local flight over the town.
The experience begins as soon as you leave the town of Valle de Bravo and venture into its magical surroundings. The Temascaltepec area, located south of Valle de Bravo, will surprise you with its mountainous landscape covered in pine trees. El Peñón, a monolith of fascinating formation, will be the guest of honor in your flight and in your photos, while the aerial views will simply leave you breathless.
In addition to its natural and meteorological charms, El Peñón is known among the local flying community for its friendly atmosphere, thanks to the fact that all the club’s pilots make an effort to maintain a harmonious environment, which is transmitted to all their visitors.
